Some hoistory:Jean-Antoine Houdon learned his trade in Paris under sculptors Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Jean-Baptiste Pigalle. He won the Prix de Rome and worked there from 1764 to 1768 where he was influenced by antiquity and Renaissance sculpture, primarily Michelangelo. He worked with marble, bronze, plaster, and clay. Houdon joined the Academie Royale in 1771 and became a professor seven years later. He created numerous portrait busts that were appreciated for their realism and personality. Houdon visited the United States in 1785 at the request of Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin where he spent fourteen days at Mount Vernon creating a statue of George Washington. He barely survived the French Revolution and retired in 1814.

The name Louis-Benjamin Audemars is perhaps not well-known in the horological world, certainly less so than the celebrated Audemars-Piguet, a firm founded over 50 years after Louis-Benjamin Audemars first set up his company in the Vallée de Joux region of Switzerland. Audemars-Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus by Jules Audemars and Edward August Piguet, both of whom were related to principals in the firm of Louis Audemars.
     Louis-Benjamin was born on 22nd May 1782, the son of Pierre-Henri Audemars, a cutter of precious and semi-precious stones for the watch and jewellery trades, and Suzette Piguet. At the age of 16, Louis-Benjamin was apprenticed to Philipe Samuel Mèylan. After completing his apprenticeship, he worked for about two years for Breguet, who considered him a “master pupil”. This explains why he used the Breguet calibre as the basis for development of his own calibres and why he had a good business relationship with Breguet in Paris.
     When, in 1811, Meyland decided to go to Geneva along with Isaac Piguet, he set up Louis-Benjamin as his successor, leaving him his workshop, designs, components and movements, as well as all his tools and equipment. Louis-Benjamin thus had a viable business (which he called the “Maison Louis Audemars”) right from the start.
     Immediately he began to modernise and expand, producing more and more complicated calibers for the watchmaking industry in Geneva. He was a perfectionist; time and cost were secondary considerations.
     In 1770, Jean-Antoine Lépine had introduced the so-called “Geneva Bar” movement, which allowed the manufacture of a much flatter, thinner watch. One of Louis-Benjamin’s greatest achievements was to replace the traditional movement with Breguet developments of the Lépine design. Another of his great talents was his ability to fulfill the demands made upon him to supply the industry with a wide range of complicated watches and to do so successfully over a long period of time

Some history:
On December 7, 1845, Adolph Lange set up his own production workshops in Glashutte, near Dresden, laying the foundation of Saxony's -- and Germany's - precision- watchmaking industry. For some years, he had been studying ways of producing high-value timepieces of consistent quality in series, and now was the opportunity to realize his ambitions. He started the enterprise with his brother-in-law, the master watchmaker Adolf Schneider, and 15 apprentices.
During his travels, Adolph Lange had drawn meticulously precise plans for new machine tools in his journal/workbook, and had embarked upon the exact determination of movement parts, gearing calculations and conversion tables between the French ligne and the metric system.
His vision and ideas began to take shape. Soon, a fundamental break with many of the traditional artisan techniques became apparent at Adolph Lange's first Glashutte workshops. The introduction of powerful flywheel lathes increased the speed and precision of parts manufacture. His theories on the division of labor encouraged many of his employees over the years to set themselves up in specialist workshops for watch jewels, screws, wheels, mainspring barrels, balance wheels and hands. In this way, Glashutte could become independent from foreign suppliers.

Some history :Nikolai Pavlovich Sablin  (1880-1937) was an officer in the Imperial Russian Navy.Sablin was born into a naval family in Nikolayev. His father was Vice Admiral Pavel Sablin . From 1906 to 1914 he served on the Royal Yacht Standart eventually acting as her commander. In 1914 he became the naval Aide de capm to  Czar Nicholas II and later in world war I commanded a battalion of the Russian Guard. He was dismissed from service after the February Revolution and joined the White Russian forces in Ukraine and South Russia.
Sablin was evacuated from Odessa in 1920 and subsequently lived in Constantinople, Berlin and Paris. He was a prominent member of Russian Exile organisations. Before his death he wrote his memoirs detailing his experiences with the Russian Imperial family. Sablin died in Paris .

Some history:
Julien le Roy (1686-1759), who is generally regarded as the most famous eighteenth century French clockmaker, significantly raised the standards of the Parisian clock trade. As the leader in his field his clientele included the cream of French society, not least King Louis XV and members of his court notably the Prince and Princess, the duc d’Orléans and Cardinal de Fleury. As a result of Le Roy’s friendship with the British clockmaker, Henry Sully and his senior colleague, William Blakey, a number of high quality English and Dutch makers were introduced into Parisian workshops. This as well as Le Roy’s own advances in the quest to improve accurate time measurement actively encouraged renewed life into the flagging Parisian trade.

Born in Tours, he trained under his father, Pierre Le Roy and by the age of 13 had already made his own clock. In 1699 Julien Le Roy moved to Paris, where he was apprenticed under Le Bon; it is said that while there he succeeded in making and completing a watch in only eight days. Received as a maître-horloger in 1713, he later became a juré of his guild; he also became a member and later a director of the Société des Arts. But his most important appointment began in 1739 when he was made ‘Horloger Ordinaire du Roi’ to Louis XV. He was given lodgings in the Louvre though he never occupied them. Instead he installed his son, Pierre (1717-85) and continued to operate his own business from rue de Harlay, where he remained for the rest of his life. Le Roy created exceedingly fine clocks for the King including one in a Boulle case for the Château de Fontainebleau. In 1727 he made a repeating cartel as well as two repeating watches “which are the first to have been made so that His Majesty can remove the dials Himself to see the uncovered mechanism”. The following year Le Roy applied the same principle to his repeating mantle clocks.

Le Roy’s innovations and improvements were substantial, notably his perfection of monumental clocks that showed mean and true time, of which his model at Hôtel des Missions Etrangères was exemplary. Le Roy also researched equation movements showing and chiming true time and advanced pull repeat mechanisms. He also resolved many problems to do with watchmaking; by taking the best and discarding the least satisfactory elements from both French and English clockmaking he ensured that watches were subsequently easier to construct and simpler to maintain. One aspect was his adoption of George Graham’s cylinder, which eventually resulted in reducing the watch’s thickness. George Graham was among his many admirers, who on inspecting Le Roy’s work once noted “I would like to be younger so as to make watches like this”.

Due to his unrivalled success, Le Roy was not limited by commercial constraints; for instance he nearly always made high quality watches and clocks in pairs so that the case and decoration perfectly matched. He generally chose the cases himself, which were provided by the very finest makers of his day such as Nicolas Le Sueur, André-Charles Boulle – father and son, the Caffieris, Charles Cressent, Le Cocq, Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain and Robert Osmond as well as Balthazar Lieutaud, Antoine Foullet and others. Antoine-Nicolas Martinière, Nicolas Julien and possibly Elie Barbezat generally made his dials.

The history of this unusual watch company started in 1846 when at the age of 24, Ulysse Nardin, a Swiss, founded his own company that manufactures marine chronometers. Despite the fact his father Leonard-Frederic Jordan assembled only alarm clocks and watches with tutoring, his talented son did not miscalculate. It is because in the second half of the XIX century, during the time of all kinds of marine discoveries, a ship returning into its native harbour mostly depended on the accuracy of ship chronometer that defined the location of a vessel. Because of this, the Swiss chronometers were rated above all, which travelled much more than the Swiss themselves.

Some history:
Sir John Bennett first set up shop in Stockwell Street, moving to the more salubrious venue of Cheapside in 1851, where he stayed until 1889. As well as running watchmaking premises who supplied watches to the Admiralty and nobility, he lead an illustrious life and was Sheriff of London in 1871 and knighted in 1872. The company showed at the Great Exhibitions of 1851 and 1862 in London and the Paris Exhibition of 1878. Interestingly the automata that adorned his shop now resides at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Michigan. In 1873 he received the highest title "Makers of the late Queen Victoria".

Some history:
In 1891 a young, talented master watchmaker, Henri Frederic Sandoz, founded the Tavannes Watch Company in a small Swiss village, Tavannes, in the Jura mountains. He and his partners, who were rich fabric merchants, soon opened markets around the world, notably in Canada, Russia, United States and the Far East. It was during this time that watches were becoming popular. Industrialization and the expansion of the railroad system made a standardized time necessary. The United Kingdom, in 1884, set its time to Greenwich Mean Time, establishing the watch business as we know it today. Henri Frederic Sandoz was a real entrepreneur. His visits to American manufacturers inspired him, and he was the first to create machine tools exclusively for the Swiss watch industry. Tavannes became an important Swiss watch company because of Sandoz?s engineering abilities. In half a century, Tavannes built five factories in Switzerland, and became the fourth largest watch manufacturer in the world. At that time they employed over 3,000 skilled watchmakers and produced over 4,000 watches a day. With over 300 patents obtained for mechanical and automatic timepieces, Tavannes was producing movements for most of the famous Swiss brands. Many of these innovations are still currently being used. Today Tavannes Watch Company is known for its quality, accuracy, and reliability in the world of fine Swiss timepieces.

IWC HISTORY

Founded in 1868 by Florentine Jones, a 27-year old American master watchmaker from Boston, the IWC Watch Company was established along the Rhine river at Schaffhausen, Switzerland hoping to benefit from the then newly built hydro-electric power facilities necessary to carry on mass production. Jones was fascinated by the idea of uniting American expertise in automatization with the legendary precision of the Swiss. He wasted no time in installing the machine tools most of them imported from America at premises in Schaffhausen.The original factory building remains the cornerstone foundation of IWC’s sprawling number of buildings in use today.The Jones calibre, the very first movement manufactured by IWC contained a wealth of advanced technical features. These included an elongated index to regulate the balance hairspring and a bimetallic cut balance to compensate for fluctuations in temperature.Jones’ master plan to export his Swiss made watches back to the United States was thwarted by high import duties on finished watches. The general history of IWC’s status over many decades continued to be turbulent as it went from one crisis to another and it was not until 1978, when IWC was taken over by VDO, which in turn was acquired by the multi-national giant Mannesman group, that IWC was put on solid financial ground able to forge ahead and able to compete with its own Swiss French-speaking competitors in the western region of the country.Being disadvantaged and far removed from the Jura capital of watchmaking near the French border, IWC has had to rely on a new pool of watchmakers from its very own school of watchmaking where every year it trains young apprentices a still respected trade following their high school graduation. Here we see a group at their benches plying their new trade.

Some history:
The legendary "Russian- Swiss" Watch Company of Henry Moser & Cie has been founded by Johann Heinrich Moser in Le Locle, Switzerland. Having directed production to Russia, the firm has found a huge commodity market, and all manufacture has been focused on Russian market. In 1868, Henry Moser together with American Florentine Ariosto Jones has created the new Watch Company “International Watch Company” (IWC). In 1831, he opened a subsidiary in Moscow, and became supplier to the Tsars, the Royal Families, the Imperial Court and the Russian Army.
Within just a few years, he was selling watches to Persia, China, Japan and Turkestan. Johann Heinrich Moser also developed sales of his watches in Siberia and Kamchatka as well as New York and Paris, where his brother Georg Moser was working as a watchmaker. Only 15 years after starting his company, Johann Heinrich Moser was the undisputed market leader in the Russian watch trade. In 1845, the Johann Heinrich Moser companies in Russia employed around fifty people.

ANTIQUE BREGUET SILVER&ENAMEL VERGE FUSEE DESK WATCH
Some history:
The history of horology in the 18th century would not be complete without the probably greatest genius of watchmaking that ever lived, Abraham Louis Breguet.
Among his numerous inventions, the best-known are the Breguet spiral, found until today in every quality watch and wristwatch, and the tourbillon, the whirlwind - an ingenious device that Breguet invented to compensate for gravity influences on the balance spring in pocket watches. Among his other inventions were a new striking mechanism for repeaters, a new escapement, the so-called echappement naturel, similar to the chronometer escapement (1789), in 1790, the parachute shock protection system, the cylinder escapement with a ruby cylinder, and improvements of Perrelet's automatic winding mechanism, implemented in his around forty Perpetuelles.
Furthermore, Breguet made what we consider today as the first Grande Complication in the history of horology, the watch known as the Marie-Antoinette. This watch was commissioned by the French queen's guard Monsieur de la Croizette with the explicit order that it should contain all known complications and the greatest possible number of parts made of gold. There were no restrictions as to the time for making the watch or the price. This watch was only finished in 1827 which means that neither the unfortunate queen (Marie-Antoinette was guillotined in 1793) nor the master watchmaker himself (Breguet died in 1823) ever saw the completed watch. The Marie-Antoinette was a self-winding watch with a perpetual calendar, equation of time indication and a minute repeater.

Rare 34mm Ref 803 Patek Philippe Coin Watch
Very scarce 34mm Patek Philippe $20 Coin Watch, extremely well made and triple signed Patek Philippe on the dial case and movement.
The outside covers are gold with minor wear.
The front cover springs open by a push piece on the bezel that is very hard to see, but it is at the 3 o’clock position.
The watch looks exactly like a coin.
Nice original gold metal dial with black lettering signed Patek Philippe Geneve.
The back cover holding the movement has a nice satin finish and the inside has the Patek Philippe signature.
Very clean and sharp Nickel movement marked Patek Philippe & Co, Geneve 18 jewels five positions. Circa 1950.
Fully serviced.
Guaranteed all original and authentic including the crystal. Serviced by Masters of Time, one of the premier watch restorers in the U.S.
The last one that sold was not restored on Ebay last year  # 13022295850 for $6,500.00 .The last Southebys trade on a similar watch has been reported to us as being $7500 a few years ago.

It is a nice 53 mm in diameter Swiss ' OMEGA ' pocket watch dating c. 1914, in what seems to be Nickel-Silver open face case. It is in full working order and keeps excellent time.
The case is in excellent condition. All lids open and close as they should. It is signed ' OMEGA ' and carries the serial number 5371639.
The dial is made of white porcelain. It has large Arabic numerals marking the hours and a second subdial marking the seconds with intervals of 10 sec. The dial is signed ' OMEGA '. It is in perfect condition. No hairlines, no chips or any kind of damage. The large blue hands are in excellent condition. The crystal is also in excellent condition.
The movement is very clean. It is a 15 Jewel stem wind and set. It is signed  ' OMEGA ' and has the serial number 4568913, which dates this watch to around 1914. It is running and keeps excellent time. I added a small movie that shows the movement working:

怀表都不是很贵的，不过几块千达菲丽的蜗牛微调不错，品相也过得去[s:87] [s:87]，有些怀表瓷盘裂勒。。。。
另外只有一块三问？我以前找别人想用格拉苏梯cal.90换一块几乎库存级的野鸡牌子红金计时三问，那机芯工艺简直可以和现代的宝玑媲美，打磨雕花倒角都是上乘，蜗牛式微调，不过人家不换.......楼主那块三问应该全面精保养一下，把机芯抛抛光，那机芯无装饰性打磨和雕花是个小小的遗憾。
不少怀表应该去维护一下了，在手艺好的维修店也只要几百块钱，可令观赏性增色不少。
